Winter Fundraising Appeal 2024/25
Your help can transform our services and facilities for those in need.

Our Target is £50,000!
We need to raise this amount by April 2025 so that we can keep providing the best possible care for the people we serve.
Your support will make all the difference
All funds raised will go directly towards improving the services and facilities at Mildmay Hospital, helping us provide vital care for vulnerable patients.

Our chaplaincy team offers vital emotional and spiritual support to patients and families during their most challenging times. We’ve already secured £10,000 from a charitable trust, and with your help, we can raise the remaining £15,000 to cover our chaplain’s salary and maintain these essential services for another year. Charitable donations also support key staff, such as our Substance Misuse Recovery Worker and Occupational Therapist, who play crucial roles in our patients’ holistic care and recovery.
We regularly need to replace and upgrade essential equipment that supports patient care and recovery, such as clinical tools like ECG machines, therapy equipment, and furnishings for patient rooms. With constant wear and tear, we need to replace numerous simple items such as a bedpan washer, upgraded soap dispensers, laundry and cleaning equipment and new treadmills for our physiotherapy rehabilitation centre - the list is endless! You can help us maintain the highest standards of care that our patients rely on.
You can help provide essential items like clothing, toiletries, and personal care for patients who often arrive at the hospital with nothing. Many come from challenging socio-economic backgrounds and struggle with disability, financial hardship, and housing issues. Some face long delays in receiving their benefits, which are often stopped during their stay in hospital, and without access to their post for months, this can cause significant stress. Additionally, many patients require replacement clothing due to issues like incontinence and others lack the funds for basic needs such as food, travel to their next care placement, or credit to stay connected with loved ones. By addressing these urgent needs, we can reduce stress, support recovery, and help our patients focus on rehabilitation and long-term independence. See our case study below.

Any support you can give will help us enhance the lives of people living with HIV and those recovering from complex health conditions, including those related to homelessness.
Together, we can ensure they receive the compassionate care and support they need to rebuild their lives.
Help us reach our total of £50,000!
Thank you.
Case study
Recently, we purchased a mobility scooter for one of our patients, enabling them to be safely discharged into the community.
With ongoing medical issues and a 25-minute walk to their pharmacy, the scooter was essential for their independence and wellbeing.
With no support from other agencies available, we were able to contribute £100 from our own resources but the full cost of £865 was only made affordable from charitable funds and highlights the type of urgent support many of our patients need. Although such a large single outlay is rare, it highlights the need for having a pool of funds to support the wide range of items our patients might need, sometimes unexpectedly, or at short notice.
By supporting our appeal, you can help reduce stress and give patients the tools they need for recovery and long-term independence.

"Your support today helps us give hope, healing, and dignity to those who need it most."
We are so grateful for the compassion of our donors
It is only with your generous support that we can continue to provide essential services and facilities for the vulnerable people entrusted to our care. Your contribution makes a real difference in their lives.
Running a modern hospital is expensive - about £12,000 per day! Roughly ninety per cent of the funding we need to run our UK hospital comes from our NHS contracts, but the remainder of our running costs and any additional costs of maintaining staff, services and facilities are entirely supported by charitable contributions.
