We Now Have Our Very Own Mildmay Line Roundel!

Updated: 4 days ago

Some of our fantastic nursing team with the new Mildmay line Roundel given to us by TfL.

We are delighted that Mildmay has received a very special item from Transport for London – our very own Mildmay Line roundel!

Last year, TfL (Transport for London) honoured Mildmay’s groundbreaking work in HIV/AIDS care by naming one of the London Overground lines after our hospital in east London. The Mildmay line was introduced alongside five other new names, celebrating key contributions to healthcare and the NHS. Our CEO, Geoff Coleman, attended the official launch event hosted by the Mayor of London at Dalston Junction Station last November and had such a great time that he joked about taking the Mildmay roundel home that day! While TfL couldn’t let him sneak off with it, they promised to send us one - and a few days ago, it finally arrived!

As a tribute to this distinctive memorial to our legacy, some of our wonderful nursing team posed with the roundel for some photos. We are thrilled to display this iconic symbol in our hospital’s reception where it will serve as a reminder of our long-standing work and will also stand as a symbol of the vital role the NHS has played in our journey.

Geoff has shared a short video about the event and his excitement at receiving the roundel (although he jokes that people might mistake us for a train station now!).

A huge thank you to TfL for this thoughtful gift!
