We are thrilled to announce that actress, director and producer, Tori Allen-Martin, will be representing Mildmay Hospital on Celebrity Mastermind on 1 January at 19:30 on BBC Two.

Tori is an actress, director, and producer, best known for her roles in Pure (2019), Unforgotten (2018), and London Kills (2019). She also starred in The Season (2019), now known as Two Strangers Carry a Cake Across New York. In 2009, she founded Interval Productions, where she served as Creative Director, producing several successful musicals, including Streets, which earned nominations for Best New Musical and Most Promising New Playwrights at the Offie Awards. Allen-Martin was also shortlisted for the BBC New Talent Hotlist in 2017.

Tori’s appearance on the iconic quiz show is a special moment for us, as she will be raising awareness for our vital work supporting people living with HIV and homelessness. She has been a long-time supporter of Mildmay, and her recent donation of £3,000, raised through her participation in Celebrity Mastermind, will make a significant impact on our work.

Tori’s specialist subject for the show? Destiny’s Child! We can’t wait to see how she fares in the infamous Black Chair, and we’re incredibly proud that she’s using this opportunity to shine a light on the work we do here at Mildmay.

Tori shared on Instagram, “It’s such an unbelievable privilege that my job allows me to help in this way. And makes the fear and terror I felt in that bloody chair very worth it!” She went on to mention how her Godfather received exceptional end-of-life care at Mildmay, making her connection to the charity so very meaningful.

Tune in to Celebrity Mastermind on BBC Two at 7.30 pm on New Year’s Day to cheer on Tori and Mildmay!
