We held our Christmas Carol Service yesterday evening - the first 'in-person' since 2019. There was ample opportunity for guests to meet staff and Trustees and enjoy some great conversation over mince pies and light refreshments!
The Trustees were pleased to hear from so many staff about how content they are at Mildmay and how the hospital continues to grow from strength to strength, despite the challenging times we find ourselves in.
Our Lead Chaplain, Sister Bernie, was awarded the annual Chairmans Award for Excellence for outstanding leadership of the chaplaincy. Our volunteer chaplains, who come from many faiths, have a vital role in providing companionship and comfort to our patients, many of whom are isolated from general society.
"Thanks to all for the work involved in yesterday’s Christmas Carol Service, which was a lovely Mildmay event, appreciated so much by those who came, with some astounding conversations afterwards between those who had gathered."
The Very Revd John Richardson
Chairman of Mildmay
