Our MP visits Mildmay Hospital

Mildmay Hospital in East London was delighted to welcome Rushanara Ali, the MP for Bethnal Green and Bow to their hospital.

A small party of staff greeted Ms Ali who is no stranger to Mildmay having attended the official opening of the New Hospital by HRH Prince Harry in 2015. After signing the visitors' book Rushanara was accompanied on a short tour of the Day Therapy Wing and then one ward where she met clients and patients. Geoff Coleman, CEO of Mildmay said “ It was a real delight to welcome Rushanara Ali to Mildmay, she warmly engaged with all she met and showed genuine interest. As well as allowing Mildmay to talk about our work, challenges and plans going forward, it gave our patients and staff a real boost."

Rushanara Ali said: ‘It was a pleasure to visit Mildmay Hospital once again and see the fantastic work taking place there. The high-level commitment and dedication of staff to patient care was truly inspiring. Mildmay have successfully produced an attentive, family environment for patients in extremely difficult circumstances and it was immediately clear that, to many, it is not only a hospital but a home.’
