We are pleased to share that Mildmay Hospital has received excellent results in the 2024 Patient-Led Assessments of the Care Environment (PLACE) Programme.
Our scores in Infection Prevention and Control (IPC), privacy, dignity and wellbeing, and maintenance were all outstanding, reflecting our ongoing commitment to providing the highest quality of care in a safe, respectful, and well-maintained environment.
While our scores in the Dementia-friendly category were not as high, it is important to note that the scoring system is primarily designed for elderly care dementia units. Some features of our environment, such as shiny flooring, automatically lower our score, even though these aspects are not central to our care model. However, we are always working to ensure that we provide an inclusive environment for all.
One area we are actively focusing on is improving our food service. Our team, led by Dietitian Kattya, is exploring innovative ideas to enhance sustainability, better accommodate allergies, and improve waste management. This is a key priority for us, and we’re excited to see continuous improvements in this area.
These PLACE assessments provide a valuable framework for assessing the non-clinical aspects of our care, and we are proud of our progress. We will continue to build on this success and ensure that our hospital remains a leading facility for specialised care.
