Mildmay held its annual AGM in the hospital chapel last week, a gathering that brought together members, Trustees, and staff—physically and via Zoom—to discuss the charity's progress and formalise financial matters.
During the AGM, Revd John Richardson, our Chair, and CEO Geoff Coleman presented updates on the charity's successes. Approval for the charity's accounts, meticulously examined by our Finance Manager and auditors, was sought from attending members.
One of the highlights was the recognition of two non-clinical staff members, Norma Martin, our Finance Manager, and Miklos Kiss, the Fundraising and Communications Manager. Both received the Annual Chairman's Award for Excellence for their pivotal contributions to Mildmay's achievements.
The AGM also marked the departure of Dr. Rosalind Furlong, a longstanding Trustee. Ros has been an integral part of the Mildmay Board since 2004, lending her expertise in clinical care and training, both in the UK and in sub-Saharan Africa, where she has connections with both Uganda and Sierra Leone. With a background as an NHS consultant psychiatrist, her experience always enriched our discussions and decisions.
Her departure signifies the end of an era, and as Ros moves on, we acknowledge her significant contributions to Mildmay. We extend our thanks for her dedicated service and wish her all the best for the future.
