At Mildmay, our dedication to providing the best possible care for our patients is constantly evolving, with nutrition playing a critical role in that journey.

Our specialist dietitian, Kattya Mayre-Chilton, attended the recent Healthcare Catering Live conference at the NEC in Birmingham, accompanied by our Nurse Nutrition Link, Meshonett, and Dietetics and Nutrition student Tioluwani, who is currently on placement at Mildmay Hospital.

The conference provided a wealth of knowledge through insightful talks on key issues such as sustainability in healthcare catering, creating child-friendly menus, and promoting dignity in dining for individuals living with dysphagia. Collaboration across the healthcare sector was a central theme, and there was a special emphasis on the role of food service dietitians like Katherine Crossfield - of the Food Services Specialist Group at the British Dietetic Association, which raises awareness of the vital role played by appropriate and enjoyable food and beverage services in all sectors - whose presentation highlighted how these partnerships can significantly improve patient care and nutrition.

At Mildmay, these lessons support our ongoing mission to optimise our provision of specialised care and rehabilitation for vulnerable people such as those living with HIV. Nutritional support remains a cornerstone of our approach, and we are proud to integrate these innovative ideas into our work. We look forward to fostering more collaborative efforts, improving patient well-being, and delivering enhanced dining experiences for all our patients.
