Dame Judi Dench, the legendary actress and longstanding patron of Mildmay, has given her support to our summer appeal, which aims to raise money for our Education Exchange Programme, sending GPs-in-training from the UK to rural Eastern Uganda.
Dame Judi said: "I am so grateful for the work that Mildmay does to improve the lives of people with HIV and other complex health needs. I know that the Education Exchange Programme is an essential part of this work, and I am delighted to support it."
The summer appeal is still ongoing, and every donation makes a difference. If you would like to support the appeal, you can donate online here.
Why This Initiative Matters
The Education Exchange Programme (EdEx) is a groundbreaking initiative that has the potential to help transform the future of healthcare.
By sending GPs-in-training to Kumi Hospital for a two-week placement, where the medical landscape is starkly different from the UK, they will gain invaluable insights and experiences to supplement the UK's traditional training programmes.
These experiences will help to equip them with the skills and knowledge they need to provide comprehensive and compassionate healthcare to patients in all settings, regardless of their resources. They will also develop a deeper understanding of the global healthcare challenges and the importance of working together to address them.
Together, We Can Make a Difference
Every donation makes a difference. By supporting Mildmay's summer appeal, you can help to ensure that the Education Exchange Programme is a success and that future GPs are equipped to provide the best possible care to patients around the world. Thank you for your support.
Together, we can make a difference in the lives of people with HIV and other complex health needs around the world.
