Christmas on the Children's Ward, about 1949

The mother of a former nurse shared this photo of Mildmay Mission Hospital circa 1949.

This is the Children's Ward (possibly Coventry Ward) kitted out with Christmas decorations. What a cracker!

That's her mum, Joan Plant née Conway, in the photo.

Dear Mildmay

I recently came across your website and was particularly interested in the archive section, as my mother (Joan Plant, nee Conway, 1929-2008) worked there as a nurse from 1949-52.

I wondered if you might be interested in the attached photo, which I believe shows one of the wards just before Christmas (possibly 1949, as she started her pre-nursing training there in November of that year). Mum subsequently worked at Southmead, Bristol.
