Notes:

In the book “Mildmay, the Story of the Deaconesses Institutions” by H J Cooke, published in 1892, a Miss Dean is named as resident Superintendent of the Nursing Home. She is said to have been in that position for almost 14 years.

This is Mary Elizabeth Cuming Dean, born in 1828. She died at the nursing home in 1899. She was Florence Annie Longrigg's aunt, being the older sister of her mother Catherine Jane Cuming Dean, who married Thomas Longrigg. She was probably the reason why Florence became a Mildmay nurse.
