Team Mildmay will once again be taking part in the 5 and 10K Red Run in Victoria Park on 1st December 2018 which is World AIDS Day. Our team will be running to raise vital funds for Mildmay and to raise awareness of our work and of complex HIV. This is a run/walk that you can take at your own pace, and as part of team Mildmay you’ll be joining many other HIV charities running under the universal symbol of the red ribbon.
Last year, over 2,000 people participated raising funds for 31 HIV charities across the UK.
We would LOVE to have you on board as part of team Mildmay.
If you would like to join us, click on to the Red Run website: then please select Mildmay as the charity you’re running for. We will then be informed that you are running as part of our team and we’ll get in touch to let you know about any team get togethers we will organise.
This year Team Mildmay will be raising money to fund a CardioCoach an important piece of equipment that will enhance our work and benefit patient’s recovery. This equipment will also allow us to produce medical research into the benefits of physiotherapy for cardiovascular health among HIV patients.
We have set up a team fundraising page so if you want to fundraise you can either make up your own page or link people to this page. Fundraising will also organise a couple of events to raise funds which we will of course let you know about.
As well as being the year Mildmay marks 30 years working in HIV this is the 30th anniversary of World AIDS Day itself – the perfect year to join us and help to mark this important year.
There will also be a Launch Party – 21 Sept, Eagle London
The Eagle will host the official launch party on the 21st of September. They will open the club early for us and provide DJs, prosecco and food. Although the Red Run is organised by Positive East this is not a Positive East event, rather an event for all of us hosted by Eagle London.
The Day itself: We will provide you with a Mildmay T Shirt. More information will follow but the Run usually starts at 12:00 you will need to get there before for registration. There is lots more going on in Victoria Park on the day, again more info to follow.
